Over the past two years, President Ranil Wickremesinghe has made significant strides in leading the country out of its most severe economic crisis, restoring stability, and setting it back on the path to progress. His comprehensive program addressed not only the collapsed economy but also every critical area necessary for stability and growth.

Notably, the President’s initiatives included passing the Economic Transformation Act, which established governance based on a national plan, targeted programs, and accountability for the first time in history. He also reinforced financial discipline through the Public Finance Management Act, presented 83 new bills and drafts to Parliament for adoption, and introduced Asia’s most robust anti-corruption law, meeting international standards, to reform legal systems and combat corruption.

The President’s administration also granted freehold land deeds for two million citizens and extended freehold rights to low-income urban apartment dwellers. It is noteworthy that financial allocations were tripled compared to the “Samurdhi” program, with the launch of the “Aswesuma” welfare benefit program, aiding 2.7 million people, and the initiation of economic digitization efforts stand out as key achievements.

The safety and security of women and children are being reinforced through the Women’s Empowerment Act, while numerous programs promoting national unity are being implemented. These initiatives include new education reforms, agricultural modernization, the largest financial allocation for the development of the Northern and Eastern Provinces, increases in daily wages for plantation workers, and the provision of housing and rights to elevate the standard of living.

The administration has also revitalized the struggling healthcare sector by addressing medicine shortages and improving hospital infrastructure. In addition, it has mitigated the energy crisis by launching projects that focus on renewable energy and has taken the climate change dialogue to the international stage, all contributing to the creation of a more developed nation.

Under the leadership of President Ranil Wickremesinghe, remarkable achievements have been accomplished over the past two years; unprecedented in the history of any prior government.
